Life @GreenKite – Kasha Mleko

I joined as an advisor to GreenKite’s Board in January 2021, specifically focused on advising on marketing and business development within the firm.  

Before joining, I had a number of conversations with founder Sara Ager and was immediately impressed by her energy, plain speaking, ambition and clarity of vision for what she wants GreenKite to become.  I was also attracted by the authenticity with which she and co-founders Karen and Shân spoke about the importance, for them, of the customer experience and their genuine passion for bringing their combined extensive and diverse industry experience to bear in truly supporting insurance firms to grow their operations efficiently, thoughtfully and with in-built resilience.  

I’ve long been fascinated by the insurance industry and the London Market in particular, with its long history of underwriting global commercial and speciality risk. My ‘day job’ is in marketing and new business development for an insurance-focused asset manager and so it has been really interesting to be exposed to yet more facets of this varied and complex industry.  

My role with GreenKite allows me to flex a different set of ‘mental muscles’ as I consider how to most effectively leverage my personal experience to best advantage for the team. Coming from a tangentially related area of the insurance industry, I try to maintain a fresh perspective and to contribute an alternative point of view to both executive and Board level discussions.  

To date, I have found my involvement with GreenKite to have been a great source of personal growth, both as an education in aspects of the industry that were new to me and it has also been a very rewarding experience at a personal level. Through working with this passionate and energetic team, I have had the opportunity to tackle a diverse set of challenges by more laterally, a skill which I am beginning to use in my own day to day both personally and professionally. I look forward to building on everything we have achieved over the last year and to continuing to learn from this fascinating group of experts in their respective fields.
